Joshua Socks left the sales world to make a difference. He found that representing employees who were treated unfairly in the workplace was a way to make that difference, and he has been using his advocacy skills to fight for individual rights since his first year of law school. Mr. Socks was drawn to employment law because he understands how important work is to every individual. “I found a purpose in this work that is far more meaningful than corporate sales.”
Mr. Socks’ practice focuses on employees that have been wrongfully terminated and whistleblowers who expose illegality in the workplace. He has represented employees in claims involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, breach of contract, violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act, as well as whistleblower and wage and hour statutes. Mr. Socks has helped achieve millions in client settlements through his strong advocacy and effective negotiation.
A Midwest transplant, Mr. Socks graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in psychology and worked several years in business before pursuing his law degree. He later graduated cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, Minnesota’s top-ranked private law school. During that time, Mr. Socks was recognized by the Labor & Employment Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association and received the “Excellence in Labor Law Award.” He was also Senior Editor for the University of St. Thomas Law Journal and received top marks in both Evidence and Legal Writing.
Mr. Socks enjoys exploring new homes of California, staying active, and cooking.
